Stan Roth has extensive experience as an actor, acting teacher, and director and has successfully taught countless actors the skills necessary to give a solid, professional, appropriate audition. Stan's teaching involves no gimmicks - just clear, effective instruction. He is particularly adept at focusing on each actor's unique personality, casting type, strengths, and specific acting problems.

  Formerly an actor for 25 years, Stan appeared in many theatrical productions in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and on tour. Among several TV and film roles, he appeared as attorney Marvin Girard on the television series The Judge for three seasons and directed several episodes of the series as well. Stan has also directed numerous other projects in various media, including several industry showcases, and critically acclaimed theatrical productions.

  Stan has taught private Cold-Reading/Scene Study classes since 1988. Additionally, he has served on the faculties of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (13 years), Theatre of Arts Academy, the Denver Center Theatre Academy, South Coast Rep, UCLA, Santa Monica College, Diane Hardin's Young Actors Space, L.A. County High School for the Arts, and the Acting Corps. Several of Stan's students now have successful acting careers, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Toby Maguire, and Jeremy Davies.

  Rather than adhere to one particular philosophy or method, Stan’s approach is designed to teach reliable acting techniques that are applicable in any acting or audition situation.
