Stan Roth has an extensive background as an actor, director, and highly regarded acting coach. Over a twenty-five year career, Stan has played numerous roles on television, in feature films, and on stage in New York, Los Angeles, and on tour. He appeared as attorney Marvin Girard on the television series The Judge for three seasons and directed several episodes of the series as well. He has also directed several critically acclaimed theatrical productions in and around Los Angeles (see reviews).

In addition to teaching ongoing, private cold reading and scene study classes, Stan has served on the faculties of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (13 years), Theatre of Arts Academy, the Denver Center Theatre Academy, South Coast Rep, UCLA, Santa Monica College, Diane Hardin's Young Actors Space, L.A. County High School for the Arts, and the Acting Corps (co-founder). Several of Stan's students have gone on to successful acting careers, most notably Leonardo DiCaprio, Toby Maguire, and Jeremy Davies.

Stan's teaching involves no gimmicks - just clear, effective instruction. He is particularly adept at focusing on each actor's unique personality, casting type, strengths, and problem areas. Rather than limit his teaching to one particular philosophy or method, Stan’s approach is designed to teach reliable acting techniques that are applicable in any acting or audition situation.
